Binh Thuan province department of planning and investment announced that there were 10 investors that have registered for carrying out 13 wind power plant projects with total designed capacity of 1,106 MW.
These projects are situated in Binh Thuan province’s districts of Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, South Ham Thuan and Phan Thiet City. In details, the investors already finished the first phase of construction works on five wind turbines in first phase of Binh Thuan wind power plant project with designed capacity of 120 MW and officially joined the national grid in September 2009. Binh Thuan province people’s committee has already issued investment certificates for two wind power plant projects of Thuan Nhien Phong (30 MW) and Phu Lac (24 MW) and the investors are carrying out compensation process, designing works and other necessary legal procedures.
Mien Dong Joint Stock Co would conducted Saigon – Binh Thuan wind power plant project with designed capacity of 11 MW, while PV Power IMPSA joint venture has been approved by ministry of industry and trade for implementing 165 MW wind power project for making investment report and submitting for approval at the provincial authority.
The remaining five projects are in process of surveying, researching and making investment report.
In 2009, Binh Thuan province has 1,026 registered projects with total investment capital of 97.518 trillion dong, in which 404 are tourism projects, 68 of seafood production projects, 169 of agricultural and forestry projects, 174 of industrial projects, 82 of services projects, 119 of petroleum projects, 10 of residential areas and 74 FDI project with total registered investment capital of $1.056 billion.
In December only, Binh Thuan province people’s committee granted investment licences for 8 projects with total registered capital of 65 billion dong.
