A HCM City-based company says it has inked a deal with Qatari partners to send 2,000 workers to the country.

Le Viet Dung from the Labour Export, Trading and Tourist Co (SOLAVICO) run by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (Molisa) said the labourers would all be male, aged 18-35.

The guest workers would work indoors and receive a salary of US$250-375 per month, depending on their diligence.

The contract is reportedly the biggest-ever concerning Vietnamese guest labourers to a Middle Eastern market.

Last year, Vietnam exported 78,855 labourers, from manual workers and experts to Malaysia, Taiwan and Japan, among other nations.

In Qatar particularly, there were some 6,000 Vietnamese guest workers granted visas.

Molisa said this year Vietnam targeted to send some 80,000 guest labourers overseas, including new markets like Canada, Macao, the US and Australia.
