57,000 tonnes of rice supplemented for national reserves

Prime minister recently approved for ministry of finance to purchase additional 57,581 tonnes of rice for national reserve. The prime minister’s decision regulating about purchasing additional rice took effects from April 26, 2010.

As for financial sources, prime minister decided to use 480 billion dong from 2010 central state budget and 36 billion dong from unused financial aid in 2009 for realising the decision.

Vietnam Food Association (VFA) reported to export 380,798 tonnes of rice valued at $178.797 million in the first 22 days of April.
