Advanced vaccine plant put into operation
Vietnam’s Central Hygiene and Epidemiology has put into operation the country’s most advanced vaccine-producing plant, which meets the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard set by the World Health Organisation, local media reported Tuesday February 13.
The plant, becoming operational on Monday February 12, is to annually produce 35-40 million doses of vaccines of five kinds: hepatitis B, cholera, rabies, Japanese encephalitis and typhoid, Pioneer newspaper said.
The vaccines will be consumed domestically in the short-term, and also be exported in the long run. The construction of the vaccine plant was funded by official development assistance of South Korea.
