Agribank posts over 2.4t dong profit in 2008

The Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) recently reported gaining 2.435 trillion dong in pre tax profit in 2008, up 2.4% yoy.

Agribank’s profit before deducting for the bank’s standby fund was 9.844 trillion dong, rising 33% from the year’s plan.

Up to the end of 2008, Agribank posted 363 trillion dong in total capital sources, increasing 23% from the start of the year, 334.76 trillion dong in total outstanding loans, up 18.8% from the beginning of the year, of which the bank’s loans for agriculture and rural development accounted for 71%.

The bank’s bed debts up to the end of 2008 accounted for 2.7% of total outstanding loans.

For the year 2009, Agribank targets a profit growth of 10%.
