American Airlines slashes air fares on Vietnam routes

American Airlines is offering air travellers big discounts for flights between Vietnam and the U.S. with return tickets as low as US$899, its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City said February. 23.
The airline said the price of a return ticket for a flight from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to Los Angeles or San Jose with a stopover in Tokyo is now US$899, down from US$1099.
Airfares for flights from Vietnam to other US cities like New York, Washington D.C. or Boston have also been reduced to US$999 for a return ticket and US$499 for a one-way ticket.
The new fares are effective from now until April 24.
Currently, American Airlines is cooperating with Vietnam Airlines and Japan Airlines to conduct flights from either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to five U.S. cities, including San Jose, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and New York.
