Anti-fraud in implementation of GATT valuation agreement

The General Department of Customs (GDC) said it is pushing up the post clearance inspections to imported shipments which declare tariff price under GATT valuation agreement, said deputy director of general Department of Customs Dang Thi Binh An.
The customs shall review actual application of GATT valuation agreement then set up criteria for assessment of fraud. GDC will request local agencies to select several goods, enterprises for taking post clearance inspection; strengthen exchange of information on violation between Departments of tax calculation and post clearance inspection.
This is one of measures to prevent loss in tax collection, fulfil the customs sector’s task of state budget collection in 2004.
