Arrangements for visit of Vietnam president reviewed

Deputy foreign minister Le Cong Phung, arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan on March 11, leading a six-member delegation. Le Phung held talks with foreign secretary Riaz H Khokhar where officials of the two countries reviewed and finalised the arrangements for the visit of Vietnam’s President to Pakistan later this month.

The two sides also exchanged views on further broadening of bilateral cooperation and identified several areas of cooperation in the economic and trade sectors.

They underscored the need to develop a strong partnership between the private sectors of the two countries. They also discussed international and regional issues. The Vietnamese side showed appreciation of Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen its relations with Asean, and assured support for Pakistan gaining membership of the association.
