August 2: UPCoM-Index Bucks Trend to Close Down
The UPCoM-Index, the measure of 131 unlisted public companies, closed lower for a second straight day despite rebound seen in the official bourses.
The index lost 0.09 point, or 0.24 percent, to end at 37.08. The market volume rose to 457,000 shares valued at VND3.36 billion, compared with 210,000 shares and VND1.2 billion from a day earlier.
Market breadth was negative as 12 stocks increased in value, 15 tumbled, seven unmoved, and 97 stocks closed untraded.
VCT was the biggest gainer, climbing 10 percent to finish at VND9,900 on a trade of 100 shares.
In the downswing, DLC was the biggest loser, erasing 35 percent to close at VND8,000 on a trade of 5,000 units.
FBA was the most active on the gauge with 255,000 shares changed hands, which rose 4.5 percent to end at VND9,300.
Foreigners net sold 1000 WSB shares today.
