August 6: UPCoM-Index Extends Vietnam Rally

The UPCoM-Index, the measure of 131 unlisted public companies, extended Vietnam gains today on hopes of supportive measures.

The index added 0.16 point, or 0.43 percent, to end at 37.33. The market volume totalled 271,000 shares valued at VND1.7 billion, compared with 383,000 shares and VND3.33 billion from a day earlier.

Market breath was positive and among index members, 14 increased in value, 8 fell, 4 unmoved, and 105 stocks closed untraded.

FBA was the biggest gainer, climbing 9.8 percent to finish at VND11,200 on a trade of 54,000 shares.

MDF was the biggest loser, erasing 9.8 percent to close at VND3,700 on a trade of 300 units.

VSP was the most active on the gauge with 137,000 shares changed hands, closing up 3.7 percent to VND2,800.

Foreigners sold 5000 VSP shares today.
