Bank shares reach big trading volume under put through method

The total trading value of three bank shares namely MBB, EIB and STB under the put through method accounted for over one third of the total trading value on Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC).

Like the previous trading session, the VN Index returned to lose points by the end of the trading session, dropping 0.1 percent to 382.9 points.

The trading volume reached nearly 35 million units worth 492 billion dong, up 12 percent from the pervious trading session. Of which, over 261 billion dong was for negotiation transactions. The group of bank shares reached the biggest volume with a total value of nearly 180 billion dong.

MBB was negotiated for 5.5 million units at the floor price of 12,000 dong per share. The total value reached 66 billion dong. MBB also led the market in terms of trading volume under the trade order matching method with over 1.3 million units. Closing the trading session, MBB ended up 1.5 percent to 12,800 dong per share.

STB reached negotiation transactions of 4.6 million units, mainly at the reference price of 14,300 dong per share. The total value was 65.5 billion dong. The reference price was also the closing price of this share.

EIB was negotiated for nearly 3.4 million units at the ceiling price of 13,900 dong per share. The total trading value reached nearly 47 billion dong. At the closing time, EIB slipped 200 dong to 13,100 dong each with over 100,000 units being changed hands.

The group of key stocks saw contrary movements. MSN, HAG, KBC and FPT stood still at the reference price, BVH, HPG, ITC, ITA and OGC lost points till the end of the trading session.

Meanwhile, VIC, KDC and DPM gained points. Starting from November 25, foreign investors were not allowed to buy KDC due to the company adjusted down the holding ratio for foreign investors from 49 percent to 34.66 percent stake.

The HNX Index also declined nearly 1 percent to 61.38 points, with nearly 60 percent of listed shares losing poinits. The trading volume decreased nearly 10 million units from the previous trading session, to 22 million units worth 215 billion dong, down one fourth from the last session.

Some shares reached highest trading volume of around 1.5 million units such as KLS, VND, PVX, and WSS. Of which, WSS ended up to nearly the ceiling price of 4,900 dong per share while KLS slipped 3 percent, VND down nearly 4 percent and PVX dropped over 1 percent.
