Banks increase US dollar prices crossing the threshold of 17,000 dong/US dollar
From December 25, all commercial banks together increased the US dollar prices exceeding the threshold of 17,000 dong/US dollar, an increase of 100-200 dong per US dollar, as against the price of the previous day, December 24.
This is the commercial banks’ first movement right after the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) adjusted the interbank forex at 3%, which has been officially applied since December 25.
At the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), the listed forex is 17,180 dong/US dollar (as buying price) and 17,350 dong/US dollar (as selling price).
At the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (Bidv), the listed forex is 17,150-17,300 dong/US dollar (buying-selling price) and at Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB), the listed forex is 17,100-17,300 dong/US dollar (buying-selling price).
The interbank average forex quoted by the central bank on December 25 was 16,989 dong/US dollar, a strong increase from 16,494 dong/US dollar on December 24.
The forex in the free market on December 25 was 17,300-17,500 dong/US dollar (buying-selling price).
