Bidv backs Mekong Delta funding
The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (Bidv) has extended trillions of dong in loans for commodities production in the Mekong delta over the past ten years, especially in the four recent years, apart from its credit and lending programmes for mountainous and central highland areas.
Bidv now aims to raise its total outstanding loan balance for the south to 40 trillion dong by 2005, in which 50% of this amount is slated for agriculture and fisheries, 20% for industry and construction, and 30% in the service sector, a Bidv officer said.
