Bidv chosen as ‘best bank’ in 2002
The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (Bidv) organised a workshop on January 7-8 to review its 2002 operations and plan for 2003. At this workshop, prime minister Phan Van Khai recognised Bidv as the leading bank in all areas of the banking sector. More specifically, total assets of the bank are valued at nearly 78 trillion dong. It has also raised 51 trillion dong from the public and lent out 47 trillion dong, in which only 2.2% of this outstanding loan is overdue, according to Bidv figures. In 2002, 25 more affiliates of the Bidv were granted ISO 9000 licences, raising the total number of ISO licensed affiliates to 34.
