The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (Bidv) plans to set up two branches to enhance securities investment services, a bank official said. Bidv will turn its Nam Ky Khoi Nghia sub-branch in HCM City into a branch by the end of the year so that it can better serve securities investors, said sub-branch director Le Thi Thu Thuy.
The forthcoming branch will provide a wide range of services for stock investors, Thuy said. “Were trying to improve our custody services to help investors trade securities more effectively. We are targeting investment funds by supplying supervisory service.”
In addition, the Hanoi-based Bidv Ha Thanh branch will be mandated to provide securities settlement services.
Currently, the HCM City branch is responsible for all the above securities services in addition to banking operations. This branch on Monday November 1 held a seminar on investment funds to allow investors to learn more about these financial institutions.
Bidv is the first designated securities settlement bank in the country and has a securities arm, BSC.
