Binh Thuan inaugurates Wind Power Plant No 1

Ministry of industry and trade and Binh Thuan province people’s committee has lately inaugurated and put into operation the wind power plant No 1 situated in Binh Thanh Commune, Tuy Phong Dist. deputy prime minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also attended in the ceremony.

The project situated in an area of 350 hectares has been conducted by Vietnam Renewable Energy Joint Stock Co (REVN) since 2008 with total investment capital of about 2 trillion dong. Up to now, the investor has finished the first phase of the projects with 20 turbines, having designed capacity of 30MW. The wind power plant would produce about 85 million kWh per year.

When finished, the wind power plant would have 80 turbines with total capacity of 120MW.

There are 15 wind power plant projects to be built in Binh Thuan province, with registered designed capacity of 1,240  MW. The wind power plant No 1 was the first plant to be in operation, joining the national grid.
