Blood donation tops in HCM City

Over the last ten-years, the city received 92,000 litres of blood from 352,000 voluntary donors, topping the country in blood donation.
Blood donations has greatly helped to improve blood transfusion for emergency cases and treatment of patients in hospitals. Nguyen Ngoc Tu, the biggest blood donor, was awarded a certificate of merit by the city deputy mayor, Nguyen Thien Nhon, for donating blood 72 times for a total of 19.2 litres.
