Both indexes rally during January 21 session
The VN Index saw the eighth consecutive point-gaining session after today trading session. The two share codes of BVH and MSN rose to the ceiling price, making considerable contribution to the increase of VN Index.
Noticeably, the share codes in banking group massively gained points, some even witnessed ceiling rise.
Despite week trading volume, the VN index still rose sharply, thanks to the support of large-cap blue-chips. The HNX Index also followed the rising trend of the southern bourse’s index.
At closing time, the VN Index surged 7.52 points or 1.47 percent to 519.5 points. Similarly, on the northern bourse, the HNX Index closed at 107.87 points, increasing by 0.85 point or 0.79 percent.
The total trading volume on Hochiminh Stock Exchange, including direct matching order and negotiation trade, was estimated at over 46 million shares worth 1.246 trillion dong, soaring by 15.82 percent in volume and 21.84 percent in value against the previous session.
On HNX, the total trading volume was posted at over 26.85 million shares for 483.61 billion dong in value, a day on day gain of 24.48 percent in volume and 22.48 percent in value.
There were 92 codes rising and 123 codes slumping on the STC, while the figures of the northern floor were 94 and 172 respectively.
The banking share codes of CTG, EIB, PVF, VCB and STB sharply raised, some to the ceiling prices. On the northern bourse, ACB, HBB and SHB also rallied.
