* The Securities Depository Centre recently announced that December 3 would be the registration deadline for Song Da Construction and Investment Co (Sodaco-coded SDS) to close the list of shareholders to advance 10% dividend in cash for the first phase of 2008 (shareholder holding one share will receive 1,000 dong). The ex-interest date for transactions with the payment duration of T+3 is on December 1 and for T+2 on December 2. The payment date is on December 26.

* December 1 would be the registration deadline for Lam Dong Foodstuff Joint Stock Co (Ladofoods-coded VDL) to close the shareholder list to pay 10% dividend in cash for the second phase of 2008 (shareholder holding one share will receive 1,000 dong), according to the Securities Depository Centre. The ex-interest date for transactions with the payment duration of T+3 is on November 27 and for T+2 on November 28. The payment date is on December 30.

* Hanoi Transformer Manufacturing and Electric Material Joint Stock Co (coded BTH) would close the shareholder list on December 1 to pay 12% dividend in cash for 2008 (shareholder holding one share will receive 1,200 dong), according to the Securities Depository Centre. The ex-interest date for transactions with the payment duration of T+3 is on November 27 and for T+2 on November 28. The payment date is on December 22.

* State Capital Investment Corp (SCIC) recently announced that it would auction the state’s holding of 2,839 shares at the face value of 100,000 dong per share in the Quang Hoa general Trade Joint Stock Co on December 10. The initial price is 107,000 dong per share.

* State Capital Investment Corp (SCIC) recently announced that it would auction the state’s holding of 44,974 shares at the face value of 10,000 dong per share in the Thai Nguyen Coal Exploitation and Construction Joint Stock Co on November 28. The initial price is 14,000 dong per share.

* State Capital Investment Corp (SCIC) recently announced that it would auction the state’s holding of 9,570 shares at the face value of 100,000 dong per share in the Cau Nga Bac Ninh Joint Stock Co on December 11. The initial price is 323,000 dong per share.

* Ha Tu Coal Joint Stock Co (coded THT) recently announced that its big shareholder, Asia Value Investment Limited sold 100,000 THT-coded shares from November 5 to 14, reducing the holding into the local firm to 6.61% stake or 601,615 shares.

* The Securities Depository Centre recently announced that December 3 would be the registration deadline for Ben Tre Forestry and Aquaproduct Import Export Co (coded FBT) to close the list of shareholders to advance 5% dividend in cash for the first phase of 2008 (shareholder holding one share will receive 500 dong). The ex-interest date is on December 1. The payment date is on December 24.

* During the first ten months of 2008, Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Co (coded HPG) reported gaining 809 billion dong in after-tax profit, achieving 109% of the year’s plan, and 7.129 trillion dong in revenue, equalling to 93% of 2008′s target. 353 billion dong of the above profit was deducted for HPG’s standby fund.

* Denmark’s Grundfos Corp., a full range supplier of pumps and pump solutions, held a conference on Monday on optimisation of pump station design for anti-flooding. The corporation will set up its branch in Vietnam in early January to expand its operation in the country.

* -HCM City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Co has been named investor for the second stage of Provincial Road No.25B.

* Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group will this month stop providing NanPhone service offered since 2003, which is the second CDMA inter-provincial network to be suspended after Hai Duong Province’s network in 2007. The number of subscribers of this network has fallen from about 1,000 to a mere 200.

* Trang Tien Ice Cream has reopened after four days out of service as the company’s management board reached an agreement with workers over pay disputes.

* Plastic Chemicals Joint Stock Co has opened a plant to produce PE tarpaulin plastic canvas in Giang Xa Commune, Gia Lam District. The company’s 4th plant to produce plastic canvas and container wraps will have a capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year.
* Up to October 31, Eximbank reported a total capital of 49.621 trillion dong including ownership capital and funds of 13.543 trillion dong, up 47% from 2007, total deposit of 32.367 trillion dong, rising by 41%, higher than the average growth of 17% of the whole banking sector.

* Southern Securities Joint Stock Co (MNSC) recently signed a cooperation deal with the Southern Bank (PNB), Far East National Bank (FENB)-HCM City Branch, and HCM Economic University (UEF). Accordingly, Southern Bank allows the broker and its customers to trade and mortgage listed shares and OTC shares, and provide loans to MNSC’s employees for personal consumption.
