BVH hits ceiling price, VN Index exceeds 403pts
On Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) today Friday February 17, the VN Index gained 6.8 points to 403.3 pts, or 1.71 percent.
The trading volume reached 41 million units worth 548 billion dong, down nearly 17 percent from the previous trading session partly due to fall in put-through method transactions.
As many as 25 stocks belonging to VN30 gained points today, of which, six reached the ceiling price, helping the VN30 increase 1.73 percent to end at 451.22 pts.
STB regained points (1.7 percent) after falling for four consecutive trading sessions but the trading volume remained low with 780,000 units.
The group of mineral shares en masse reached the ceiling price with brisk transactions such as BGM, BMC, KSS, KTB, KMR, KSA. Many real estate shares such as HDG, IJC, ITA, ITC also reached the ceiling price while VIC slipped slightly.
ITA reached the biggest trading volume with over 3.1 million units, of which, foreign investors bought two million units. At the same time, ITA also reached put-through method transactions for 3.3 million units priced at 8,000 dong each.
On the northern bourse, the HNX Index increased 2 percent to 61.79 pts. The trading volume reached 37 million units worth 303 billion dong, up 14 percent from the previous trading session.
A series of key stocks reached the ceiling price by the end of the trading session like HBB, PVL, PVX, SHN, SHS and VND.
KLS reached a net purchase volume of 438,000 units by foreign players. In recent four trading sessions, foreigners have bought 3.3 million KLS share. KLS today ended up 200 dong.
