Ca Mau fertiliser plant to officially start operations

The National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam – PVN) and the Ca Mau Fertiliser and Power Management Board officially held the ceremony for signing the acceptance certificate for handing over the Ca Mau fertiliser plant from the main contractor of Wuhan Engineering Co, China.

The fertiliser plant was built in an area of 62 hectares in Khanh An Commune, U Minh Dist, Ca Mau province with designed capacity of 800,000 tonnes of urea per year, using the technologies of Denmark, Italy and Japan and project management consultancy of Belgium-based SNC Lavalin Group.

Previously, the fertiliser plant officially produced first commercial products after 42 months of construction on January 29, 2012. Up to now, the plant has produced about 100,000 tonnes of products and supplied to the markets 55,000 tonnes.

After the hand-over ceremony, Ca Mau Fertiliser Plant would officially start the operation and introduce the products to the markets.
