Cambodia, Vietnam trade turnover reaches $1.8b mark

The two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Cambodia reached $1.8 billion in 2010, almost 10-fold increase from 2001.

Of which, Vietnam’s export to Cambodia reached $1.55 billion in 2010, up 10.6 times from 2001 and Vietnam’s import spending from Cambodia was $276 million, rising 7.3 times over 2001.

In the first six months of this year, the bilateral trade between the two countries reached $1.351 billion, rising 56.7 percent. Of which, Vietnam’s export to Cambodia was posted at $1.104 billion, up 51.6 percent on year and Vietnam’s import value from Cambodian market was $247 million, up 84 percent year-on-year.

Regarding investment sectors, Vietnamese enterprises have had about 89 projects licensed with a total pledged capital of nearly $2 billion in the fields of industrial trees, garment and textile, healthcare, telecommunications services, fertiliser production, mining, aviation services, banking operations and building material production.
