Can Tho inaugurates upgraded electricity grid

Power Co no 2 (PC 2) under Vietnam Electricity Corp (EVN) inaugurated a project of upgrading and developing electricity transmission line on December 17 2004 in the hall of People’s Committee of Can Tho south-western city.
The project is a part of a project of electricity grid development in Da Lat central highland city, Bien Hoa southern city and Can Tho south-western city. The project includes upgrading and building new 150.5-kilometre medium-voltage transmission line of 22 kV, 436-kilometre low-voltage transmission line and 421 power distribution stations with total capacity of 89,327.5 kVA. Total investment capital of the project amounts to 260.342 billion dong, including 115.139 billion dong sourced from loan of Asian Development Bank (ADB) and 145.203 billion dong is counterpart capital of the power company.
The project aims to lower electricity loss from 13% to 9%, raising capacity of electricity supply in the city.
