General Statistic Office (GSO) has just reported that the country’s automobile imports in August alone reached 1,700 units worth US$44 million spending, marking the lowest number of imported CBU since the start of this year due to the government’s goal to limit the car import in order to curb inflation and reduce trade deficit, bringing the total figure of Jan-August to 44,000 vehicles worth over US$843 million.

Earlier, the CBU import in July was more than 2,000 vehicles worth US$51 million.

During the first three months, the CBU import gained over 10,000 units a month on average that was down to 1,700 units in Jan-August.
