The first cargo carrying goods for Laos has successfully arrived in Vietnam’s Vung Ang Port, located in central Ha Tinh province, on 26 April.
The cargo, comprising 3,100 tonnes of iron and equipment for the construction of Thakhet Cement Factory in Khammouane province, was transported by a Mongolian Ship Chenglu 8 from Tianjin port in China. It is currently on its way to Khammouane province.
Vung Ang port plans to receive more transit cargo for Laos and Thailand once the bridge across the Mekong river, which will link Thakhet district with Thailand, is completed.
