Cathay Pacific has launched a second daily flight on the successful Hong Kong-HCM City route, marking a stronger presence of the airline in Vietnam. The Cathay Pacific Airbus A330 landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport with 200 passengers and crewmembers onboard on July 1.
The airline now has two flights everyday to Hong Kong from HCM City and vice versa.
Cathay Pacific country manager for Vietnam Henry Chan said adding one more daily flight would give passengers a wider choice.
The airline believes Hong Kong is the gateway to China and different countries like North America, Australia and Europe.
A two-way HCM City-Hong Kong ticket valid for a year sells for US$734, and US$520 for a month.
Chan said Cathay Pacific now had a promotion in which passengers departing from HCM City would enjoy a preferential price of US$488 for a two-way ticket and a two-day hotel stay in Hong Kong for the morning flight and US$408 for the evening flight.
This year Cathay Pacific was voted as the “Airline of the Year2005″,”Best Airline Asia” and “Best First,’ Class” by the annual Skytrax survey.
