Child hospitalised with suspected bird flu in Hue

The Hue hospital said it admitted a five year old child from a rural village on March 15 suspected of having the bird flu.
The child is from Chau Hoa village, Thuan Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa district, Quang Binh province.
When hospitalised, the child had a high fever and suffered respiratory problems. X-rays indicated pneumonia symptoms. The child patient was immediately quarantined and provided with special medical treatment.
Deputy director of the hospital, Bui Duc Phu, said relatives of the child patient admitted that many chickens had recently died at their rural village.
