In first ten months 48 Chinese investment projects worth US$115 million were registered and double the number last year in Vietnam. Up to now there are 237 Chinese FDI projects with total approved capital of US$488.2 million, ranking sixteenth of 64 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.

However, the Ministry of Investment and Planning points out that while project numbers are comparatively high, the number of Chinese projects that are actualised is low at only US$137.17 million or 28%—just half of the average of around 60%.
