Chinese steel to mine iron ore deposit
Chinese Kuming Iron & Steel Group or Kisco said it plans to mine iron ore in Vietnam, 60 kilometres from China’s Van Nam border province due to the country is facing a serious steel shortage.
The group expects to import 1.5 million tonnes of iron annually from Vietnam to serve production, said the Kisco general director Li Youngling.
Also, Kisco will build a 500,000 tonne a year steel rolling mill in Vietnam, Li added.
