Construction starts on US$28m central region resort

Sai Thanh International Tourism and Investment Co or STI on January 26 started construction of the Hoi An oceanic tourism site and golf course covering a total of 120 hectares at Dien Duong commune, Dien Ban district of the central coastal province of Quang Nam.
The project, which is capitalised at US$28 million, will house 172 guesthouses, 140 five-star villas for the first phase up to 2006.
Work to build the 18-hole golf course—the first in the central region—will start some time in 2007.
