Deputy PM upbeat on Geneva news
Significant signals from the eight round of negotiations in Geneva has prompted the government to call for international assistance to Vietnam in matters relating to post–WTO accession, deputy prime minister Vu Khoan told the donors’ conference in northern Vietnam on June 17.
‘I’ve just received encouraging news from Geneva today. Vietnam’s new offer is seen as a breakthrough (for the country’s WTO accession efforts), and support has come from negotiating partners, including the EU and the United States,” Khoan told the Consultative Group meeting.
