Drug importers face health ministry checks

Inspectors by the Ministry of Health, led by the Head of the Vietnam Drug Administration began weeklong inspections on five pharmaceutical import companies in HCM City on October 19.
The pharma firms include the HCM City Medical Import Export Co (Yteco), Vimedimex 2, Saigon Pharmaceutical Co (Sapharco), Central Pharmaceutical Co (Coduphar), and HCM City branch of the Phu Yen Medical Material Co
The inspections focus on the implementation of import contracts, drug content, vaccines, medical equipment, and overall inspection of operations at those companies.
After the week, inspectors will meet with officials of the HCM City Health Department.
