Dung Quat refinery to shut July-August for maintenance
Vietnam’s first oil processing plant, at Dung Quat, is scheduled to be shut for maintenance in July and August 2011 for regular maintenance, state-run Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, or PetroVietnam said Thursday.
The 130,000-barrel-a-day refinery is expected to produce 4.9 million metric tonnes of products in 2011, the company said in a statement.
PetroVietnam has signed contracts to sell 4.7 million cubic meters of oil products–including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and fuel oil–to domestic fuel-trading firms for delivery in 2011.
It expects to sign more contracts with other domestic firmsfor the sale of the remainder of its 2011 output, it said.
Since it went onstream in February 2009, the plant has processed 6.98 million tonnes of crude oil to churn out 6.21 million tonnes of products, PetroVietnam said.
