The EVN Southern Power Corp (EVNSPC) and Italy’s Preysmian Powerlink SRL Group yesterday officially signed the EPC contract (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) for the project of 110kV Ha Tien-Phu Quoc submarine cable network. The signing ceremony took place in HCM City.
The project has total investment capital of 2.336 trillion dong, equivalent to $112.29 million, mainly taken from World Bank’s loans and EVNSPC’s capital. The EPC bidding package valued at 1.975 trillion dong or 67.471 million Euros was to be conducted by Prysmian Powerlink SRL Group within the period of 18 months.
This will be the longest submarine cable network to be built in Southeast Asian region with designed capacity of 131MVA and length of 58 kilometres.
By the end of 2013, it was expected that the power grid in Phu Quoc Island would be joined in the national grid via this submarine cable network.
