EU funds programme to stop bird flu transmission to humans

The EC delegation in Vietnam has recently agreed to transfer 600,000 euro or about 12.42 billion dong in non-refundable aid of the EU to Vietnam to help in the prevention of transmission of the bird flu to humans, said a source from office of the Vietnam-EC Health System Development Programme (HSDP).
The fund will be granted to the Ministry of Health channelled via the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Vietnam. This amount of money will be spent purchasing equipment and training personnel.
