EVN buys nearly 1.6b kWh electricity from China in Jan-Jul
In the first seven months of this year, Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) has bought 36.78 billion kWh of electricity from outside providers, accounting for 56.1 percent of the total output, of which, electricity purchase from China was 1.571 billion kWh, EVN said in its report on business and production performance in Jan-July
In July alone, EVN’s electricity supply situation for living and production was maintained stable and safe. EVN’s electricity production and purchase were estimated at 10.38 billion kWh, of which, power production was 5.551 billion kWh, accounting for 53.5%.
Cumulatively, in Jan-Jul, EVN’s electricity production and purchase were 69.097 billion kWh, rising 11.2 percent over the same period last year, of which, electricity production was 30.315 billion kWh, making up 43.9 percent and power purchase from outside was 36.782 billion kWh (electricity purchase from China was 1.571 billion kWh).
According to EVN, as expected, in August, the load of the power system can reach up to 348 million kWh per day and the largest capacity would range around 19,000-19,300 MW.
Also in August 2012, the group’s electrical system operation target is to exploit highly hydropower plants such as Son La and Hoa Binh to ensure safe operation of the grid.
