EVN to hang on to large power producers

The general director of Electricity of Vietnam reports that EVN has decided to maintain the status of the country’s large electricity companies Hoa Binh, Yaly, Tri An and Phu My which are considered “crucial for national energy security”. The rest of EVN’s subsidiary companies will have to undergo equitisation and shift to joint stock status under EVN majority control in 2006-2010.
