EVN to provide telecom services

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) recently sent a working group to the two northern provinces of Yen Bai and Lao Cai to study a possibility to build an optical cable network where cable TV and information network services are integrated.

According to Dinh Quang Tri, vice general director of EVN, the corporation has many advantages in providing public telecom services, especially in terms of price as optical cable services of EVN may be five or ten times cheaper than of other service providers.

It is expected that feasibility study reports and technical designs for EVN’s project in Yen Bai and Lao Cai will be completed by June 30.
