Eximbank raises US dollar deposit rates for third time

Vietnam Export-Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) announced to adjust the interest rates for US dollar depositors to the highest level of 4.95 percent per year.

Starting from Sep 15, the customers who participate in the bank’s current promotion programme of “Gui USD huong lai suat cao” or depositing in US dollars for high interest rates. In details, the customers who deposit in US dollars with selected deposit terms and adjusted interest rates in every three months will enjoy deposit rates of 4.75 percent per year, and for six-month term of 4.95 percent per year. However, the depositors were not allowed to withdraw the principal before the first interest payment date.

Since the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) adjust the inter-bank Forex rates, Eximbank has continuously adjusted the deposit rates in US dollars to 4.45 percent; 4.65 percent previously and to 4.95 percent this time.

Last week, ACB also raised deposit rates in US dollars to 4.7 percent per year, and Military Bank (MB) also applied the highest interest rates of 4.4 percent per year for US dollar depositors.
