Financial leasing companies in HCM City suffer loss of 1.422tr dong

HCM City Branch of State Bank of Vietnam announced that revenue from foreign currency sales in the city sharply slumped in comparison with 2008. The total buying revenue was posted at $64.4 billion, equal to 67 percent compared to that of the previous year, while sales revenue of $69.7 billion dong, or 71.8 percent. The overseas remittance was estimated at $3.1 billion, down 20.3 percent year-on-year.

The commercial banks reported gaining positive business results, while the financial leasing companies suffered loss of 1.422 trillion dong due to high rate of bad debts.
