First E-tender raises 5.65tr dong worth of government-backed bond

In the afternoon of August 6, 2012, the first electronic tender has been held on Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and the raised volume reached 5.65 trillion dong worth of government-guaranteed bonds issued by the State Treasury, including 1.65 trillion dong for 2-year tenor bond, two trillion dong for 3-year tenor bond and another two trillion dong for 5-year tenor bond.

Of which, the yield for 2-year bond was 9.1 percent per annum (p.a.), 3-years at 9.2 percent p.a. and 5-years at 9.59 percent p.a.

In comparison with the previous tender, the yield for 3- and 5-year tenor bond decreased 0.19 percent and 0.16 percent respectively while the yield for 2-year tenor bond remained unchanged.

The tender attracted 18 participants with a total bid amount of up to 15.79 trillion dong, including 2.75 trillion dong for 2-year bond at the highest bid coupon rate of 11 percent and the lowest was 8.73 percent p.a. and the nominal coupon rate was 8.8 percent p.a.

Three-year bond had total bid volume of 7.46 trillion dong, at the highest bid coupon rate of 9.9%, the lowest at 9.1 percent and the nominal coupon rate at 9 percent p.a.

Five-year bond had total bid volume of 5.58 trillion dong, at the highest bid coupon rate of 10.1 percent p.a., lowest at 9.49 percent p.a. and the nominal coupon rate at 9.5 percent p.a.

Since early this year so far, bond tenders via the northern bourse have raised 100 trillion dong.
