Five contractors criticised for slack road construction

The office of the Ministry of Transport and Communications announced the conclusion of deputy transport minister, Ngo Thinh Duc strictly criticising some contractors of the package of constructing the road-section N2 from Duc Hoa-Thanh Hoa (Long An southern province) for the sluggishness of the above package’s five thirteen progress because this road-section construction work must be finished in 2005.
The contractors include Co No 586 under the administration of Civil Engineering Construction Corp No 5 (Cienco No 5), Co No 118 under Civil Engineering Construction Corp No 1 (Cienco No 1), Dong Thap Co, Civil Engineering Construction Corp No 4 and Thang Long Construction Joint Stock Co No 4.
For resettlement measures, Duc permitted the general director of the My Thuan project management unit (PMU) to terminate signed construction contracts of the My Thuan project and re-contract with new business contractors if any current contractors showed any breaches against construction progress and the quality of construction works after these contractors are already warned about their breaches.
