Food, hospitality show opens in HCM City

A show for the food and hospitality industries called Food & Hotel Vietnam 2004 starts today at the HCM City International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Tan Binh District.
More than 200 companies from 23 countries and territories are participating in the three-day event put on by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Besides Vietnam, the food, drink and equipment suppliers and the hotel, restaurant and bakery operators come from Australia, Canada, the United States, France, Germany, Scotland, Singapore,
Taiwan and elsewhere. Yesterday the organisers said the show would bring a wide range of food and hospitality services to Vietnam, allowing local businesses to learn about developments beyond these shores.
Included in the programme is a seminar on industry trends and nurturing the food and beverage trade in Vietnam. The professional organisers are Singapore Exhibition Services Ltd and the VCCI’s Exhibition Service Co Besides the VCCI, State sponsorship of the event is provided by the trade ministry, the Industry Ministry and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
