Foreign firms in HCM City up capital by US$180m

HCM City since the beginning of this year has agreed 48 investment projects with a total capital of US$56.9 million, a US$9.6 million increase over the same period last year. The municipal planning and investment department also reports that of the newly-licensed projects, 42 are 100% foreign-invested projects with a total capital of US$28.5 million, five joint ventures totalling US$22.4 million, and one business cooperation contract.

There are 27 projects investing in industry with a total capital of US$30 million, 17 projects in property development and service industries with a capital of US$23 million.

Also the first four months, the capital investment of 33 foreign-invested projects increased by US$183 million. In the meantime, the Ministry of Planning and Investment granted four licenses to HCM City’s businesses to invest overseas with a total investment of US$1.8 million.
