A host of Vietnamese and Sri Lankan businesses gathered at a trade exchange in HCM City on August 14 to seek business opportunities.
The event was jointly organised by the HCM City chapter of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Sri Lanka ‘s Dankotuwa Association of Real Estate and Industrial Investors.
The visiting Sri Lankan businesses mainly work in farm produce and foodstuff, garment accessories, and packaging and construction materials.
S.H Harischandra, former senior advisor to Sri Lankan minister of Commerce and Trade, said Sri Lanka is offering investment incentives, including tax preferences and administrative procedures, to improve cooperation with developing countries in a bid to tap domestic market and expand investment overseas.
The same day, a number of Japanese companies working in business consultancy, foodstuff, automobile spare parts, industrial and construction machinery and office equipment made a working visit to HCM City.
On the occasion, the HCM City SIYB business club and Japan ‘s BSO company also hosted an exchange with Japanese counterparts, creating a business corridor for the two countries to share information and study the market.
