Hanoi Telecom to provide services to Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park
Hanoi Telecom will provide internet and telecom services to northern Vietnam’s Hoa Lac hi-tech park from the second quarter of next year under a contract the two sides inked Friday December 9.
Under the deal, it will invest US$20 million in a telecom and IT complex in the park situated in Ha Tay province near Hanoi.
With a satellite ground station, the complex will provide internet and telecom services for the park, including the CDMA2000 3G (Code Division Multiple Access) mobile phone network.
The 35 hectare complex, to be called the International NG-ICT Technology Centre, will also have 10 sections specialising in research, development, and production of telecom and IT products.
In February, Hanoi Telecom tied up with Hong Kong-based telecoms giant Hutchison Whampoa for a US$655.9 million project to develop the CDMA2000 3G mobile network in Vietnam.
