A map detailing the master plan for the Nam Thang Long Urban Zone comprising a total area of 3.67 million square metres has been approved by the Hanoi People’s Committee. This is the first new urban zone in Hanoi, which will be built by a joint venture between Citra West Lake Development Co. (CWLD) and a Singaporean firm, consisting of three wards of Tay Ho district and two communes of Tu Liem district. This master plan will be split into two phases with nearly 3.3 million square metres implemented in the first phase and the remaining area of 400,169 square metres carried out in the second stage.

The urban zone is expected to house 45,000 people with approximately 1.04 million square metres of apartments and buildings at a construction/Land density of 33%.
