HASTC Index records high of 265.62 points

The volume of shares traded on the northern bourse continued to increase considerably during the session of January 5. 2007.

On the day the whole market had 3.13 shares changing hands with a total value of 210.61 billion dong, a rise of 40.15% as compared with the previous session, reported the HASTC.

The HASTC Index rose 7.57 points to close at 265.62 points, up 2.93% over the previous session.

Out of 60 share codes, 44 including HNM, HPC, HTP, NBC, PAN, SD5, SD7, SSI, VBH and VTS rose by 200-19,200 dong per share in price. Especially, BVS coded shares of Bao Viet Securities Co increased by 19,200 dong per share to 237,000 dong each on average, SSI (+16,800 dong), NTP (+13,800 dong), and SVC (+10,600 dong).

The transactions by foreigners suddenly increased sharply with 1.39 million shares changing hands, taking up a half of total market trading volume. Of which, the foreign investors continued pushing up the purchasing of BCC, BTS, SSI, TBC and PPC.

In addition, over 3.6 million bonds (worth 374.41 billion dong) coded CP061111, CP061114 and QH061112 were traded by foreigners, lifting the total transaction value made by foreigners to 464.41 billion dong during the session.
