HCM City estimates to enjoy trade surplus of more than $560m in Jun
In June, HCM City’s export turnover is estimated to have reaped $2.709 billion, rising 16.4 percent from the pervious month, of which, the export turnover of local economic areas is estimated at $1.97 billion, accounting for 70.6 percent of the city’s total export turnover, HCM City Statistics Bureau reported.
Totally, in the first six months of this year, the city’s total export turnover is estimated to have fetched $13.571 billion, rising 5.5 percent on year.
Regarding import segment, the city’s import value in June is estimated at $2.147 billion, up 1 percent on month and 1.9 percent on year. Of which, the import value of local economic areas is estimated at over $1.556 billion, accounting for 71.4 percent while foreign-invested economic areas posted $591 million, making up 28.6%.
Accumulatively, in Jan-Jun, HCM City’s import spending for goods is estimated at $12.682 billion, rising 3.2 percent over the same period last year.
Thus, in the first six months of this year, HCM City is estimated to have enjoyed a trade surplus of $889 million and the city’s trade surplus in June alone is estimated at $562 million.
