More than 100 mostly foreign companies will promote their industrial machines and equipment at an international fair in HCM City next month, the organisers said on September 20.
The EPM Vietnam 2005 fair from October 11 to 14 will focus on equipment for such sectors as mining, construction, engineering, power and electricity, rubber, plastics, woodwork, food processing, packaging and printing, according to Dam Nguyen Manh of co-organiser Hannover Messe International.
Up to 40% of the exhibitors will be German companies.
Others come from France, Italy, China, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
Vietnamese companies make up just 10%, and almost all of them are distributors that only sell equipment and machines.
Manh said as part of the fair Hannover Messe would for the first time arrange an exhibition on water supply and drainage by more than 30 companies from Germany and other European countries.
Hannover Messe and the exhibition company AFC, the other organiser, will give away 15,000 copies of the EPM Vietnam 2005 directory at the fair at the HCM City International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Manh said EPM Vietnam 2003 held in Hanoi by Hannover Messe drew 132 companies from Asia and Europe.
Manh said his company was a leading exhibition company in Germany and had organised many international fairs in Hanover.
